The Borochovs are hosting Ravid Kahalani, the founder and lead singer of the band and international phenomenon Yemen Blues. The special show will incorporate renewed content from the “Debka Fantasy,” “Borochovs,” and a variety of other projects. The entire show features new arrangements, instruments, and musicians, while also revealing surprising musical intersections. Members of the ensemble: musician Yisrael Borochov, one of the founders of the East-West Ensemble and Natural Selection; jazz trumpeter Itamar Borochov, a leading figure in the New York ethno/jazz scene; bassist and music producer Avri Borochov; futuristic oud player Max Schedrovitzki; percussionist David Dagmi; and the talented musician Ariel Alaev (from the Alaev family). The revamped ensemble navigates the depths of ancient and mystical music to the contemporary music clubs of New York, incorporating instruments and styles from different worlds. A multicultural, creative, and bold performance that combines mysticism, poetry, captivating melodies, and fascinating rhythms.
