After years of refining their musical language and numerous performances on major stages across the country, the D-ONE project is launching their debut album with a festive and expanded show at the festival. The show was born from many years of research into the soul music of Yemenite Jews. The performance offers a new and in-depth interpretation, with contemporary sound, of the ancient poems of Diwan poetry, which contain spiritual texts hundreds of years old and ancient melodies. The ensemble’s music connects the worlds of spirit and sound into a single, deep, and surprising creation, rooted in the Israeli-native space and uniting past and present, ancient and new, East and West. The ensemble seeks to touch the deepest layer of the music – the place where singing is not just emotional expression, but an inner movement, a search, and an expression of prayer.
