The ethno-jazz band Tesfa (“hope” in Amharic) comes to Confederation House with a performance offering a unique combination of authentic Ethiopian music and jazz. Tesfa hosts vocalist Tombola Abebaw Tekla, a native of Gondar, who began his musical career in Ethiopia and joined Tesfa following his aliyah to Israel in 2022.
Tesfa presents Ethiopian folk melodies and iconic songs of the golden age of Ethiopian music, moving between traditional and contemporary styles. The performance by Tesfa embodies the enthusiasm, desire and joyfulness in Ethiopian music, causing audiences to sing and dance to the sensuous sounds.
