Amitai Aricha’s D-One Project takes the world of early melodies and texts of the Jewish-Yemeni diwan propelling them to the present in a vital, new and fresh form. This performance by the ensemble came about through Aricha’s many years of research. He sings and plays the soul music of Yemen’s Jews on ukulele and saz. Aricha collaborates with multi-instrumentalist musician Yarden Erez and drummer Itamar Gutman. Together the three offer an original interpretation of the ancient spiritual songs of the diwan. The performance promises an authentic, uplifting and comforting musical experience.
