Dance-performance dealing with the meeting of cultures on both sides of the Red Sea—Ethiopian and Yemenite. The performance brings together Samrat Haylu and Evyatar Said, two artists examining the similarities and differences between Yemenite and Amharic dance, and touching upon questions of ritual, tradition, relation to distance and proximity, gender and more. Through the eyes and bodies of Samrat and Evyatar we encounter the fascinating worlds of tow distinct dance cultures that share surprising similarities.
