Discussion and poetry in four encounters, each hosting a poet and analyzing the connections between Israeli poetry and that of other countries in the region. Ronny Someck will talk about his latest book and about being the “exiled Iraqi poet”; Tehila Hakimi will speak about the new Eastern wave in Hebrew poetry; Professor Ariel Hirschfeld will analyze the influence of Um Kalthoum; and Yonit Palomba Naaman will explore questions of body, gender and race through poetry.

Poetess Tehila Hakimi was awarded the Israel Culture Ministry Prize, the Bernstein Prize and the Prime Minister's Prize for Hebrew Literary Works. She is a mechanical engineer by profession. Hakimi will speak about her poems, her graphic novel and book of prose, the creative process and the new Eastern wave in Hebrew works.
