The Prelude for Peace Ensemble, led by pianist and composer Doron Kima, is comprised of Jewish and Arab musicians and seeks to be a bridge between cultures. The ensemble encourages tolerance between Jews and Arabs presenting the rich traditions of Arab and Jewish music and Western classical music, which intertwine to create uniquely refined textures. The ensemble will perform original works and special arrangements of western classics by composers including J.S. Bach, Chopin, and Ennio Morricone and songs of Fairuz, Muhammad Abd al Wahab and other important artists of the Arab world, in special arrangements emphasizing the uniqueness of Western and Arab musical instruments.
