A magical musical encounter between Ladino and Moroccan melodies—with the Haketiya (Moroccan Ladino) at its heart.
An evening that brings together three artists: Armand Sabah, born in Morocco; Esti Keinan, born in Italy and Oren Fried, born in Jerusalem; three musical instruments: voice, oud and drum; and three languages: Hebrew, Arabic and Ladino. The three reside in Jerusalem and have been playing together for over 20 years… Morocco, which recalls Spain, which longs for Jerusalem. In this encounter they connect songs in Ladino with Moroccan melodies, while presenting Haketiya, Moroccan Ladino.
Esti Keinan Ofri, vocals; Armand Sabah, oud; Oren Fried, percussion; guest artist: Abatte Barihun, saxophone, vocals
