Vocalist Liora Itzhak is regarded as the woman who brought Indian song to Israeli music. Now Yitzhak presents a new Bollywood-Israeli performance in which she sings her original songs, Indian folk songs, her versions of familiar songs and Jewish piyyutim. Itzhak comes from an established family of immigrants from India, and returned to India, where she studied Indian classical music and gained a reputation as a singer of hits in Bollywood film. Since her return to Israel she has successfully combined the two worlds—Bollywood and Israle, singing in Hebrew and in Hindi. Itzhak has already had several hits in Israel—Ma’alah ma’alah and Halayla hatunah, and has worked with Idan Raichel (Milim yafot miayleh), the Dag Nahash (Halifot), Ivri Lider and Static and Ben El.
