Vocal artist-dancer Lea Avraham, who was active for many years in the Inbal Dance Theater and in Bat Sheva and numerous musical ensembles, devotes the new performance to songs of love and longing of the women of Yemen. Avraham presents, for the first time, rare and special songs and dances of the Hogriya district in southern Yemen. For many years Avraham studied the Yemenite vocal traditions and her performance includes songs never presented on a local stage. She will be joined by vocalists Tom Fogel and Ofer Kalaf, who will present the tradition of male songs of Hogriya set to piyyutim of Rabbi Shalom Shabazi.
