THE 9TH HULLEGEB ISRAELI-ETHIOPIAN ARTS FESTIVAL
Contemporary Israeli-Ethiopian poetry is emerging from a lively marginal culture, telling the story of a society with many identities and cultures. Using poems, personal stories and original music, ten young artists, recent and veteran immigrants from the Ethiopian community, open a window to Israeli-Ethiopian culture. Each artist, in her or his unique way, will shed light on the experience of immigration and the conflicts of identity that emerge between the Ethiopian culture in which they were raised and educated and contemporary Israeli culture and reality.
